This device is suitable for accelerated aging tests via light and water exposure to predict the relative durability of non-metallic materials such as paints, coatings and plastics. It is especially ideal for observing physical property deterioration of highly durable materials, including gloss loss, haze reduction, strength decline, chalking, cracking, blistering, embrittlement and discoloration.

Like other laboratory accelerated aging tests, the test results obtained by this device cannot replace natural exposure tests to determine the actual service life of materials.
